The key timings are currently:
Week commencing 19th October 2026 – Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Scoping Report submitted to the Planning Inspectorate (a copy will be published on the project website).
Autumn/winter 2026/27 – ongoing stakeholder engagement, environmental assessment, and further development of the proposals.
Early 2027 – public consultation on the emerging proposals, giving local communities the opportunity to view the plans, ask questions and provide feedback.
Spring 2027 – consultation feedback considered as the design is refined.
Autumn 2027 – anticipated submission of the DCO application to the Planning Inspectorate.
